The team at Coolar works hard to provide reliable cooling to regions without reliable or affordable electricity supply. With the Coolar system modern healthcare, vaccination and sufficient food supplies can be provided to the developing world. Additionally, CO2 emissions are ten times lower than those of conventional refrigerators and no harmful substances like climate-damaging, flammable or toxic refrigerants are needed, the Coolar system is completely non-hazardous. In 53 countries of the developing world, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisations (GAVI) has forecasted an investment of $650 million to meet demand for cooling equipment for vaccines, the demand for cooling all types of pharmaceuticals is much higher.
Our system is already addressing two major issues, the overheating of medicine and vaccines, as well as food, and also the ability to be powered at off-grid locations. For example one Coolar fridge with 90l storage volume can cool vaccines for 1,000 children per year, if it is resupplied every 3 months.
